Medical Innovation Forum

Wed 09-Jun-10 - Partnering & Technology Transfer for the Medical Devices Sector.

Michelle Dalton of - MedilinkWM - 16:20:25pm Jul-9th

More a networking event than an exhibition, the Medical Innovation Forum again attracted an eclectic mix of academics, clinicians and industry. The exhibitors were predominately supply chain companies doing business within the medical and healthcare market, and looking for product designers and specifiers to network with. And several of them I spoke with were not disappointed. Many mentioned the lower visitor numbers to this years’ event, but by the end of the day nearly everyone I spoke with said they would be back the following year because the quality of interesting leads could not be disputed. There were some interesting tabletop discussions too, again centred around innovation and the challenges to adoption...so nothing new there. Many proactive medical professionals were in attendance though, scoping out new services and identifying companies leading the market with innovative offers. It’s a show definitely worth a punt, but plan for an early start as set up is 8:30am at the Olympia Conference Centre in London.

Chris Ogden of - Laser Lines - 16:16:54pm Jul-9th

Very interesting day. Break-out sessions were very useful also to help ponder what was presented and to discuss presentations further to enhance their relevance to our organisations

Lucy Watkins of - appliedeventology - 16:16:15pm Jul-9th

Over 75 delegates from a cross section of UK life science industry and academic institutes attended this one day conference. The programme addressed areas such as the problems associated with wound dressing, the innovative use of design and materials in human plumbing and challenges around rejection and infection due to implant surfaces. MedilinkWM secured high profile keynote speakers and sector experts to the event which gave delegates a real insight into both the academic, clinical and industry challenges as well as reinforcing the importance of surface design and materials. MEDTEC UK 2010

Tue 27-Apr-10 - The Exhibition and Conference Addressing the Technical Sourcing Needs of Medical Device Manufacturing Companies in the UK.

Michelle Dalton of - MedilinkWM - 16:22:41pm Jul-9th

Now solidly integrated into the Advanced Manufacturing Show, MEDTEC UK has definitely lost its edge. Footfall through the show was the lowest in years, and the atmosphere lacked the usual buzz. Convinced quality is better than quantity (even if the traffic is necessary to keep the exhibitors lively), our team suffered through the first day and held out hope for an uplift on day 2. And as it nearly always does at this show, they came on day 2! But the quality still wasn’t there. The bottom line: MEDTEC UK needs a stronger medical/healthcare focus to attract the right audience.

Lucy did a great job with organising the event last week! I'm sure it was a lot of effort, but well appreciated.

Lucy Watkins of - Applied Eventology - 11:25:34am Feb-3rd

myM-link kept with tradition and chose an unusual venue to host this workshop and networking event. The Black Country Living Museum in Dudley provided a unique setting for the delegates who broke the ice with a traditional Victorian classroom lesson which included a 60 second spotlight for the guests to promote their products and services. Michael Phillips of - Renfrew Group International - 14:26:46pm Feb-2nd

We exhibited as part of the ABHI pavilion. We were busy most of the time. We were in a good position and had Innovative product to show. Attendance may not have been as high as expected but nonetheless for a 5 day event there were few quiet moments. We received a good number of enquiries and have gained at least one piece of business from the event. We would attend again and may exhibit, possibly with physically large equipment.

Nicky Kelly of - Syspal - 15:28:05pm Feb-1st

David Nichols of - The Translation People - 15:32:37pm Feb-1st

As an SME, the format of the British Pavilion made it possible for us to maintain a consistent, professional presence at the show. Our staff were able to attend appointments and give visitors to the stand extra attention, using MedilinkWM’s highly professional staff to represent us on our pod. We had some really useful meetings with UK officials at the show, which I know will develop into strong commercial opportunities. It just proves that ComPaMED really is the world’s meeting place for medical devices and technologies.

Lucy Watkins of - Applied Eventology - 15:27:11pm Feb-1st

Although the show didn’t quite feel as busy as in 2008, ComPaMED 2009 saw better quality international buyers come through the door. The UK pavilion stand partners took a number of lucrative enquiries resulting in a potential £1m worth of new business.

Simon Strothers of - ITCM - 15:26:08pm Feb-1st

Caroline Herdman of - Primasil - 15:24:51pm Feb-1st

Primasil exhibited at Compamed 2008 for the first time. As a company we found it very beneficial having a stand share with MedilinkWM.
