During September 2015, The Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) communicated its decision to end funding through the Employer Ownership Pilot (EOP), from the end of March 2016. This affects EOP funded skills programmes across all Industrial Partnerships, including the Science Industry Partnership (SIP), in which Medilink is a delivery partner.
Ministers have cited reasons including the broad pressures on the public purse, the Summer budget and the changing skills policy context.
As a result Medilink UK are unable to continue to offer grant funding towards training programmes. However, MedTech employers should note that already approved training will be honoured subject to the terms and conditions in the offer.
It should be noted that while the Government EOP contract will terminate, Medilink UK will continue to champion our sector’s skills needs and further develop services to address these needs. Medilink UK will endeavour to offer these services to ensure great value for money for members and will continue to support companies’ skills development.
