The shortlist for the Medilink UK Healthcare Business Awards 2013 has been revealed.
Some of the world’s most pioneering technologies will be recognised at the prestigious awards ceremony, taking place at the ExCel Centre, London, on March 13
The Medilink UK Healthcare Business Awards, this year supported by the NIHR Devices for Dignity Healthcare Technology Co-operative, is an annual event that celebrates cutting edge technologies, outstanding business achievements and international success across the UK’s Life Sciences sector.
This year the Medilink UK Awards will partner with the Department of Health’s Healthcare Innovation Expo, which takes place at ExCel on March 13 and 14 and is expected to attract more than 10,000 visitors.
The Medilink UK Awards, which will be compered by BBC newsreader Jane Hill, will attract leading professionals from the Medical Technology and Life Sciences Sector, UK government, research institutes and overseas organisations.
The shortlisted entries are made up from the best of the regional Medilink Award Winners. Categories for this year’s awards include Innovation, Start-Up, Export Achievement, Partnership with the NHS and Outstanding Achievement.
Short-listed for the Start-Up Award, celebrating new businesses with a promising future, are Savantini (Yorkshire & Humber), Serascience (West Midlands) and Rogue Resolutions (MediWales).
The Innovation Award is presented to companies who are pioneers in healthcare and have come up with groundbreaking products. Shortlisted for this category are Novozymes A/S (East Midlands), DySIS Medical (Life Sciences Scotland) and Conformetrix (One Nucleus).
Awarded to the company recognised for an outstanding performance trading overseas, the Export Achievement Award shortlisted companies are Sheffield Precision Medical (Yorkshire & Humber), Advancis (East Midlands) and Chromogenex (MediWales).
Shortlisted for the Partnership with the NHS Award are companies that have developed collaborations with the NHS that will have a major impact on business performance or patient care. The shortlisted companies for this category are Vivo Smart Medical (East Midlands), Myclincial Outcomes (South West) and Message Dynamics (SEHTA).
The Outstanding Achievement Award is given to the company whose achievements have had a significant or vital impact on the company and the sector as a whole. The shortlisted companies are Tunstall (Yorkshire & Humber), Invacare (MediWales) and Deltex Medical (SEHTA).
