Stirling University and Midas to Design & Deliver Dementia Care Centres

Devon County Council have appointed Midas Construction and the University of Stirling  to design and construct an ambitious £11.2 million improvement programme to develop dementia care centre of excellence across the region over the next three years.

10 of the Council’s 23 residential care homes are expected to be transformed into modern, state of the art facilities for those living with dementia, along with their carers.

The programme will also include refurbishment and modernisation of the Council’s other homes.

Divisional Director for Midas Construction Mike O’Neill, said: “As a local contractor it is our policy to source materials and labour as locally as possible so that we can bring financial benefit to the local economy.  In addition local training and employment opportunities will be created.”
