Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust (AWP) is a significant provider of specialist mental health services to adults and older people covering Bath and North East Somerset (BANES), Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Wiltshire and Swindon. With a turnover of £190m and operating out of over a hundred locations, the Trust also provides specialist drug and alcohol services and specialist and secure mental health services including prison mental health services, to people living across a wider area. The organisation is ambitious for the future. It is delivering a range of achievements on its journey of change and improvement and is now seeking to recruit a new Chief Executive to harness the energy for change and expedite performance improvement, securing the sustainability of the Trust and enabling it to deliver successfully in an increasingly competitive environment.

• Provide visible and inspirational leadership to the organisation and work in partnership with the Board to develop the Trust’s future strategy, ensuring it is well positioned for long term sustainability.

• Act as an ambassador for the Trust in the wider health and social care economy and beyond, influencing and driving change and development across the wider health economy.

• Be an exceptional leader with significant board leadership experience in the NHS or other comparably complex health care organisation bringing high levels of political and commercial acumen with strategic vision, strong intellect, resilience and excellent communication skills.
