Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
Applications are invited for a 6 PA Consultant post in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with a special interest in Neuropsychiatry/Paediatric Liaison based in the Department of Child and Adolescent Mental Health (DCAMH) at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Trust. This post provides an exciting opportunity to lead the development of a new neuropsychiatry service in the department and thus experience in paediatric neuropsychiatry is essential. The service will provide outpatient assessment, pharmacological and psychological management advice and some continuing therapeutic work for complex neuropsychiatric conditions. The postholder will also contribute to the Paediatric Liaison service in the hospital so a particular interest in Paediatric Liaison is desirable. The post includes a one in five on-call commitment.
DCAMH offers both inpatient and outpatient national services: Inpatient – Mildred Creak Unit (MCU). Outpatient – Feeding and Eating Disorders Services (FEDS), Parenting and Child Team (PACT) and the Social and Communication Disorders Service (SCD). The Service has strong clinical and research links with a broad range of services across the UK, as well as with other departments in the hospital and the Institute of Child Health. The department has a strong multidisciplinary ethos.
The successful candidate will be on the Specialist Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Register. They will have knowledge of and clinical experience in paediatric neuropsychiatry and paediatric liaison. As part of the Great Ormond Street Hospital NHS tertiary paediatric Trust, there is an expectation in the Department for significant research, development and teaching activity. The successful applicant will also be appointed to an Honorary Senior Lecturer post at the Institute of Child Health.
Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Trust is a postgraduate teaching hospital, linked with the Institute of Child Health (ICH). The Trust has 318 beds and provides a comprehensive range of paediatric specialties for tertiary level care. The patient population consists of well over 192, 828 admissions or outpatient appointments per year.

The basic salary range for this post is £74,504 to £100,446 per annum plus £2,162 per annum London Weighting.
